I have high anxiety while in the dental chair. What options are out there to decrease my anxiety?

Nitrous Oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, is the most commonly used anxiolytic. It is a gas that is combined with oxygen to produce a calming effect and allow you to relax when it is inhaled. When the dental procedure is over, the dentist will allow the patient to breathe 100% oxygen for a few minutes to eliminate the effects of the Nitrous Oxide. Unlike other types of sedation, the patient should have a clear head within minutes of coming off of the Nitrous Oxide allowing them to drive home without any lingering effects.

We care about our patients and consider you part of our Bogey Hills Dental family. We promise to treat you with the integrity and care that we would provide to our own family.
